The Johnstone men were
once sturdy and sure,
A powerful clan to be heeded.
Discrete Border Reivers,
Repleat Law Deceivers,

They originally settled,
With still and brass kettle,
in Annandale, lovely and true.
And for six hundred years
they were loved and were feared.

Lead by young, daring hands,

Under fog, under hood,

Sits ruined and sour.
